As the world tries to find out ‘Who is the Replicant?’—the latest reality event where one of the ten participants is an android—it also witnesses how refugees live in a dilapidated camp on a Greek island. An uncontrolled influx of bleeding-edge tech and avant-garde gadgets pave the way for the refugees to take their fate in their own hands, leapfrogging existing technologies and uplifting all as the future arrives, extremely unevenly distributed. As developments accelerate beyond the producers’ control, it becomes ever more difficult to find out who the replicant really is. What does it mean to be human? Will the Replicant be unmasked? Or do other events take precedence?
